Dino gets standby vehicle till his is customised

It's an unusual exchange. While Dino Morea is waiting to customise his Mahindra CJ340 jeep, the car manufacturer gave him a Bolero Stinger as a standby vehicle to drive around till he gets his customised one back to check if he wants his earlier jeep like this one.

Doing up my drive

Dino says, "I had asked them to customise my old jeep which is in Bangalore and do up the upholstery, engine, dashboard etc. It will also have spoked rims for the tyres which makes it more compatible to drive.

I was shocked and thrilled when they offered me the use of their vehicle until such time that I get mine customised and also so I could get used to the feel of it.

I have been driving it around Bandra. Indian jeeps are cool vehicles aesthetic, great for Indian roads and airy."

Apart from driving around his newly loaned jeep, Dino is selecting the colours for his customised one. "I want a dark colour like black, dark blue or army green.

I love my old jeep a lot and that's why I want it customised. For my daily needs, I have another luxury vehicle.

I love automobiles as much as I love riding bikes. It's my dream now to buy myself a Ferrari."

Lara Dutta and Dino Morea haven’t parted ways yet

The couple seems to have ironed out their differences and are dating again, but not without being overcautious about their PDA (or the lack of it).

So, Lara Dutta and Dino Morea haven’t parted ways yet. Their romance may have hit a few hurdles, but the lovebirds steeplechased them all and their love appears to be stronger than their troubles.

The duo has recently been spotted spending quality time with each other in public. They were seen walking their pets – Lara’s two dogs along with Dino’s three – at Bandra sea face. The couple was chatting away like thick friends.

‘Indian Cine’ Stars on Catwalk at IIFA Fashion

It was a bright and starry last night at IIFA as celebrities modeled on the catwalk last onJune 12 for the country’s leading fashion designers at the IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) Fashion Extravaganza in Macau.

It was hosted by celebrity duo Zayed Khan and Sophie Choudhury, who looked stunning in Manav Gangwani creations. Headlining the glamorous gathering was international singing sensation Peter Andre.

The star-studded night featured catwalk shows by leading Indian designers Rocky S, Manav Gangwani, Anamika Khanna and Farah Ali Khan — along with a new collection by Hong Kong designer Chris Chang.

Among the movie star models, Hrithik and Suzanne Roshan showcased striking yet feminine jewellery by Farah Ali Khan.

Chic Sonam Kapoor looked stunning in Anamika Khanna’s sexy, glamorous, edgy and stylish evening wear.

The ever-sophisticated Bipasha Basu elegantly modeled glamorous traditional wear by Rocky S, while Dia Mirza, Dino Morea and Madhavan modeled for Manav Gangwani, and Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse were show-stoppers for Siyaram.

The IIFA Fashion Extravaganza raised funds for the IIFA Foundation, which supports families of film industry workers who are adversely affected while working on films. The IIFA also hosts charity celebrity events in support of the foundation. -Sampurn Media

Glittering fashion show, flat jokes at IIFA charity event

Macau, June 12 (IANS) Product placement in Bollywood took on a whole new meaning at the IIFA Fashion Extravaganza here Friday night in aid of film industry workers, even as a number of film stars walked the ramp, but the jokes scripted by hosts Zayed Khan and Sophie Chaudhary fell quite flat.

The Shiamak Davar dancers introduced the latest mobile phone by sponsor Videocon in an energetic routine before the first two models of the new phone to be launched soon were autographed on stage by Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Kapoor, to be auctioned off later in aid of the IIFA Foundation which supports widows and orphans of film industry workers.

The work of a host of Indian and Macauan designers was featured not only by models, but in some instances also by Bollywood stars.

Dino Morea sparkled in a white suit to offset the cream outfit of Dia Mirza, both designed by Manav Gangwani, while leading Macau designer Chris Chang prominently used children in her display.

Raima Sen and Neha Dupia were part of the ensemble that modeled exquisite jewellery by D’damas and Sonam Kapoor highlighted the collection by rising designer Anamika Kapoor.

Neil Nitin Mukesh showed off a black suit as part of the Siyaram range, but it was not what he would wear in his next film, “Jail”, by award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, in which Mukesh earlier said he would wear genuine jail uniforms lent to them by the authorities.

Also taking to the stage to introduce “Do Knot Disturb”, their next film together, were Govinda, Sushmita Sen, Producer Vasu Bhagnani and director David Dhawan.

“I don’t know why they called me onto the stage at a fashion show like this!” Govinda remarked in jest. “Have you seen my clothes that I’m wearing?”

Amid the glitz and glamour, Khan and Chaudary tired hard to crack the punch lines of their scripted jokes, largely failing to secure laughs from the audience for the cliched gags.

Scores of fans lined the Green Carpet, singing popular Hindi songs as their favourite stars arrived for the event, most stopping to pirouette in their outfits for the TV cameras.

Overall though, the effort was lauded for the funds that would go to the foundation for a worthy cause.

The IIFA Fashion Extravaganza is part of the three-day IIFA Weekend that ends here Saturday evening with the IIFA Awards for the best in a range of film categories.

Bollywood lovebirds make appearance at IIFA (IIFA Diary)

Macau, June 12 (IANS) Whether it is 63-year-old Kabir Bedi or Riteish Deshmukh, who is almost half the latter’s age, Bollywood’s unmarried men were spotted with their girlfriends at the ongoing International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend here.
While Kabir Bedi walked in on the first day’s green carpet hand in hand with his much-younger girlfrend Parveen Dusanj, Riteish descended with his rumoured girlfriend Genelia D’Souza.

Even former Miss World Lara Dutta, who looked stunning in a black heavily sequined top with trousers, walked in with actor boyfriend Dino Morea and stole away the limelight with her poise and enigma.

IIFA, an annual event that promises to take Indian cinema beyond Indian shores, kickstarted here Thursday and will end Saturday with the award ceremony.

Sushmita Sen hopes for an award next year

Former beauty queen-turned-actress Sushmita Sen’s dormant film career has left her with no option but to simply hope for an award every subsequent year.

“Unfortunately I am not getting any award this time. But I will be back with my other films next time. This time I will just give away the awards,” Sushmita told reporters here.

Sushmita is here to promote her forthcoming comedy film “Do Knot Disturb”, which also stars Govinda, Riteish and Lara.

“I am promoting my film heavily. That’s what I am here for. We are also performing at the IIFA,” she said.

Is Neil Nitin Mukesh really an Indian?

Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh sent international mediapersons at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) into a tizzy with his good looks.

“Is he really Indian? Maybe he is of mixed origin,” a Macau-based male journalist who writes for an English daily asked IANS.

Another journalist Claudia, who writes for a Portuguese paper here, said: “He looks amazing. Actually quite a few of the Indian actresses like Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta and Anushka Sharma also look good.”
